Smoked Pea Pulao

Shahzada Rice Variety Used

Premium Super Kernal Basmati Rice (green pack)


2 cups Shahzada rice
Salt to taste
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 inch piece ginger, chopped
2 pieces cinnamon
2-3 bay leaves
2 black cardamoms
4 green cardamoms
2-3 dried red chillies
1 tsp cumin seeds
¼ tsp turmeric
½ cup peas
1 chopped carrot
2 tbsp oil
1 piece of charcoal


Heat oil in a pan. Add the whole spices. Once they splutter, add the onions, garlic, and ginger. Once the onions are translucent, add the turmeric, stir in the rice with salt and once done add in peas and carrots. Cook until vegetables are done. Give dum of charcoal (place charcoal inside and cover with a cloth and then a lid) and simmer the rice.
